Eva Grubinger's Five Problems at Bloomberg Space

Bloomberg SPACE is a dynamic space, where artists and audiences explore new ideas and relationships in an innovative way. In May 2002, Bloomberg L.P. opened its own gallery called Bloomberg SPACE dedicated to commissioning and exhibiting contemporary art within its European headquarters in Central London. 

On Thursday, 31st March from 6-8pm, The space will play host to the private view of Eva Grubinger's Five Problems. This exhibition focuses on a series of sculptures that relate formally to Vexier (or disentanglement) puzzles, thought to originate in the ‘wisdom games’ of Song Dynasty-era China. The mixed media pieces have been complied from materials such as wood, metal and string.

The artists currently lives and works in Berlin. In the past she has had solo shows at Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma, Helsinki; BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead; Berlinische Galerie, Berlin; Schirn Kunsthalle and Institute of Contemporary Arts, London, among others. She has also participated in group shows at Marrakech Biennale; Galeria Vermelho, São Paulo and Kunsthalle Wien, Vienna among others. 

The show officially runs from 1st April – 28th May, 2016.
