Making & Unmaking at Camden Arts Centre

Duro Olowu curates this intricate look at cultural identity, sexuality and the representation of the body. Olowu is a fashion designer, who was born in Nigeria in 1965, he is well known for his bold use of colour, pattern and fine design.

The creative has filled three rooms at the Camden Arts Centre with traditional textiles, paintings and sculptures from a number of well known artists to converse about aspects of everyday life such as one's identity, sexuality and cultural norms.

Artists featured in the exhibition include: Caroline Achaintre, Marina Adams, Leonce Raphael Agbodjelou, Anni Albers, Tasha Amini, Walead Beshty, Alighiero Boetti, Lygia Clark, Céline Condorelli, Tommaso Corvi-Mora, Hamidou Maiga, Mrinalini Mukherjee, Wangechi Mutu, Alice Neel, Nobukho Nqaba, Chris Ofili, Stanley Whitney, Kehinde Wiley, Masaaki Yamada and Lynette Yiadom-Boakye among others.
