First ever CTRL: Reprezent x ICA festival

ICA are to host a collaborative festival geared towards young creatives this July! Reprezent FM and the Institute of Contemporary Arts have come together to give the the youth of London a chance to take part in an array of workshops and lectures this summer, the event kicks off on July 23rd 2016 at 1pm.

The  free all-day festival will explore the theme of control through music, talks, screenings, workshops and live performances, curated by Reprezent Radio, SE1 United, ICA Student Forum, Skin Deep and Kingston University students.
 


The event line up includes: 
Reprezent Radio broadcasting live from the ICA Theatre, 1pm-10pm
Reprezent radio will explore the diversity of youth cultures through underground music, debate, live interviews and performances from some of the nation’s key youth influencers.

studio K, T-shirt printing, 1pm-6pm
Master the basics of silk-screen printing with studio K, participants can design and paint their own t-shirt.
 
Art School Taster, Studio, 1pm-6pm
Talk to art students from Kingston University, view and admire examples of their work while they discuss their experience art school through hands on creative workshops in sculpture, photography and painting.
 
Badge-making, ICA Learning Associates, Lower Bar, 1pm-6pm

In response to the current Judy Blame: Never Again exhibition at the ICA, visitors can create and wear a selection of badges.
 
Skin Deep: Race + Culture, Studio, 6pm-8pm
Skin Deep will curate an interactive multimedia session on visual albums by people of colour, centred around Beyonce’s latest hit Lemonade.
Skin Deep are a London-based multimedia platform for race + culture, creating a space where a diverse range of heritages, tastes, styles, stories, sounds, traditions and imaginings can be explored both creatively and politically.
